Honest review of what I think about this story. Rating: 1.0, no more, no less. ----- Writing Quality: 1 Star The author doesn’t seem to make any effort to make the story even remotely enjoyable. The protagonist had an interesting start, but after that, it was just one frustrating (literally) event after another. The problem is that the author didn’t even try to develop anything after these scenes—he just forced the protagonist to remain the exact same oblivious and "stupid" person. I have to admit, reading this was incredibly frustrating... ----- Update Stability: 1 Star Considerably long gaps (15+ days) just to receive a short chapter that barely contributes anything to the story. And since nothing interesting or remotely logical happens, the story ends up being what it is—something made to irritate the reader. ----- Story Development: 1 Star As I mentioned before—horrible. At first, the protagonist’s trainer is described as a character similar to Ash, due to her charisma. Moments later, it’s revealed that she passively tries to manipulate the protagonist’s mind to make him like her—which does make some sense, I’m not complaining about that. The issue is that the protagonist constantly says he hates it, but the moment he interacts with her, he just ignores everything. He knows he can communicate with the trainer like any Pokémon, express his discomfort even if she doesn’t understand his words. But he doesn’t. He just complains internally and takes no action. If the trainer is such a pure and charismatic character (as the author keeps insisting), expressing his feelings shouldn’t be impossible. Later, the protagonist is mistreated by his trainer’s own Pokémon for a while. Then, he’s bullied by a Pokémon belonging to the trainer’s "friend," and after that, he’s basically violated by psychic energy in front of his trainer by someone else. And once again, there’s no sign that she cared in any way. Since she was compared to Ash, she should have at least been furious (even if she couldn’t do anything to help), but apparently, not even that happened. Overall, every character so far is completely detestable and unrealistic for a Pokémon story. ----- Character Design: 1 Star Like I said in the previous section—horrible. With an additional issue: the psychic violation happened just because they thought he was a disguised Pokémon. And because of that alone, they decided to violate his mind, immobilize him, and force him to say anything. They completely ignored the trainer standing right next to him—not even bothering to ask if she knew anything about it. And well, apparently, Zorua and Ditto must be fictional creatures in this world. Because if people react like this just because someone is disguised, then no one in this universe has ever heard of Zoruas. ----- World Background: 1 Star Horrible. So far, nothing concrete has been established—there’s been no proper explanation to help the reader understand if this is a 100% original Pokémon world, if they’re in a specific part of the manga, anime, games, etc. I’m saying this after reading 20 chapters. I refuse to read any more. 20 chapters should have been enough to give at least a basic idea of the setting. (There’s a Pokémon fanfic with almost 1,000 chapters, and despite having an extremely slow pace, it managed to establish all of this in less than 5 chapters. So "reading too few chapters" is not a valid excuse to dismiss this observation!) ----- Final Verdict: I wouldn’t recommend this even to my worst enemy. The author might improve in the future, but until then, this is pure torture to read. I gave it a chance, I tried to push through, but after that mental violation scene and the complete lack of reactions, I just gave up. My issue was never that the protagonist wasn’t strong or capable of fighting back—it’s that both he and his trainer are absolute emotional rocks, incapable of feeling anything, even when the most absurd things happen.
