Empires rise and fall on the Yulan Continent. Saints, immortal beings of unimaginable power, battle using spells and swords, leaving swathes of destruction in their wake. Magical beasts rule the mountains, where the brave – or the foolish – go to test their strength. Even the mighty can fall, feasted on by those stronger. The strong live like royalty; the weak strive to survive another day.
This is the world which Linley is born into. Raised in the small town of Wushan, Linley is a scion of the Baruch clan, the clan of the once-legendary Dragonblood Warriors. Their fame once shook the world, but the clan is now so decrepit that even the heirlooms of the clan have been sold off. Tasked with reclaiming the lost glory of his clan, Linley will go through countless trials and tribulations, making powerful friends but also deadly enemies.
Come witness a new legend in the making. The legend of Linley Baruch.
My very first novel and the best that made brought me to love novels similar. Although i absolutely love this novel I am seething with about about the fact that it was moved from Wuxiaworld and brought to QI.
This novel is good but you bastars QI how you dare show this translation like your own Nowel transleted by wuxiaworld.com You should only link to WW.
My very first xinxia novel i've read. Totally got me hooked to it. Originally it was translated on WW. Im pretty sure QI copy pasted it without permission
I am only giving this a high rating out of respect of this novel itself. I definitely recommend that you give it a read, but I recommend that you give it a read on the site that it came from. http://***.wuxiaworld.com/cdindex-html/ That is a link to the novel on the site it originally translated on and reading it there supports those who spent countless hours of work translating this wonderful book instead of supporting someone who spent a couple of hours copy pasta-ing this novel without receiving any permission to do so.
Thanks for wuxiaworld who bring this great novel to our community. A great novel from I Eat Tomato, he is my favorite author. Is this book worth to read ? the answer is YOU DEFINETELY REGRET IF YOU NOT READ THIS .... well it just my opinion. BTW why this novel released in qidian ? as far as I know the this novel should be taking over by wuxiaworld. sorry for my ignorance as they aren't any statement from Ren (Wuxiaworld) about this
Great wuxia novel. For Kylse, please dont misuse this space for your personal reason. This is a review section FOR the novel. Why did the first and the second paragraph of your comment contradicted ? The first one was justified because you did care about the novel itself but why did you defend Qidian and thinks that all of us is stupid on your second paragraph ? isnt this what you call by selfish or personal reason that dont have a connection about thr novel itself ? ** : sorry english wasnt my first leaguage
Thank god ISSTH and CD completed before this sh***y war between QI and ww , still i am reading novels from both sites, chinese authors are great creators of imaginative world. If QI going to monopolise all the chinese novels and then putting paypal for reading novels, then i have to stop this amazing journey in chinese novels because i cant afford it. But i hope this doesn't happen.....
The 1st to second, and maybe a little if the third volume is annoying to read, but once u get to the part where linley gets together with that one chick at the erwin institute, i can guarantee u, that it only gets better, so....much....BETER!!! Warning: there will be scenes that make u cry, i know i did..... a lot too..... Warning:same scenes will make u mad too, and some others as well.... Ps: by that one chick, i mean the the first one, u know, the ine he doesnt actually know about, but is in a relationship with.... that one. Pss:him smashing the two crystals, that part will make u sad and angry..... also ****** the statue/sculpture, make u feels sad to.... but these feelings are what gets u hooked on this book, with more feels to come in the future. Also, i swear, this is the only book, where i myself became super f#cking p!ssed for the MC, anf cried and felt moody when bad things happened to him. I was also expectant of other chinese books too after i finished reading this, but those other books....could never even get close the the backsrory, plot, character developement, the excitement and worry for the MC, the relationships and betrayals, deceit and cunning, and SO MUCH MORE!!!😤😤😤😧 that other books just cant compare to this one. I might be a little baised, since this is the first translatef book I've ever read, but it is really good starting the middle of 3rd volume, and it only goes uphill from there......though the end is so....anticlimactic.......its great though... Now then, if u have eniugh time to read to here, then..... GO READ THIS BOOK ALREADY, QUALITY GUARANTEED BY ME🙃🙃🙃
Coiling Dragon is my very first novel that got me hooked into reading other numerous translated Chinese novels. I highly recommend any new readers to start with this novel. The story and characters are amazing. The novel was already completely translated by RWX on wuxiaworld.com in 2015. So go to the original translator's website if you want to start reading!
Everything but the translation quality is good....you know...considering it is stolen. Addictive to read, I've read it and reread it many times because I like it so much.
Mediocre, a nice standard for 'average' to compare others with. It's nice that it's completed already and we don't have to wait week after week, but for the style it's in, there are lots of other novels on this site that does the job better (and lots that do it worse). The nice things about it are the occasional warm scenes and amusing characters. Although rare, the feeling of family and friends are well-appreciated. But the idiocy! The sheer, mind-blowing, soul-cringing idiocy! It's like almost all the characters in this story, even the supposedly 'intelligent' ones are competing for the Global Morons Championships! What kind of husband sits around crying about his mistakes while his wife is lying in front of him still alive but slowly dying? SAVE HER you absolute nincompoop! And all that standing around waiting for an enemy to strike first! Or worse, give them time to summon a total badass?! Or treating a death-zone as a tourism site and getting trapped!? Or worse, the gambling habits! It's like a guy, who, just after becoming a majority shareholder in a global corporation, went to a casino and bet his very life all night long! That dumb! On top of that, the whole mindset of 'might makes right' looks like a child's temper tantrum. So many times I hoped for intelligent responses and all we got was more and more reason for endless conflicts. That, and a lot of contradictions of behavior and supposed character. The westernized names, the hate for churches and all that portraying gods behaving as badly as petty spiteful children doesn't help either. What happened to the author? Got rejected by a churchy girl who wanted to save herself for marriage? Sure seems like it. The story might have done better to delve more into meaningful side-plots (like a certain sort-of-teacher involving gravity and her spunky son, or a certain sister of a city lord who could have been a love interest, or even that certain pair of lovers stuck in a really bad place for a crazy amount of time). But instead? We get more reasons for a fight scene (which while plentiful, are too focused on reasons for power than actual action. Dude. Rookie mistake. Too much telling, not enough showing.) In the end, this story feels immature, like the early works of a budding novelist. It's a good first effort, I guess? Like I said, a good standard 'average' to compare others with.
One of the novels that marked my path to chinese novels. I can't rate it's quality without being a little biased for it being my first one, but let's give a try. I enjoyed the novel throughout even tho the final part was a little bit rushed and it did not give a "end story" feeling, I think it was a good plot. Like any other novel by IET, the cultivation system and the understanding of the laws really stand out comparable to others, to me the best part of his histories. For the worst part I think the relationship of the MC with his family is really plain and there is not anything interesting about it.
The main character is a sîm p; the author tries to hide it under a veil of edginess though. FL cheats on him and he forgives her and aids her although she is legit a th0 t. The characters are all bland and repetitive, overall this is a overrated novel. Very unsatisfying to read; if you can't write romance don't! It ain't hard. Like seriously I feel like this novel gave me brain damage. Yes, it's that bad. This novel had the potential to be good but was ruined by a probably (?) hor ñý as§ author. World background is overall decent (very cliche though). Translation is quite good.
First of all , I only have one thing to say about the story . I loved the story but as it continued there is one thing i really hated about the novel so much that i quit in between because that same mistakes keeps repeating again and again. The problem is that , the mc keeps getting himself in trouble again and again despite when it's very easy to escape from it from reader's perspective , that's right and this never stops . Well forget about this , i can somehow still bear it until i finish reading because i still enjoy it . What i really didn't like is , despite creating all these problems himself he kepts crying and wishing he was more powerful to not let his friends die , even his wife(she is not dead) but she had a lot of problems relating to this such that this guy still worries so much about it that he still purposefully gets himself in trouble like an idiot. Rest all stuff i found very interesting , but like this trait of novel that never stops happening pissed me off lie hell.
This was the first Xianxia I have ever read. It welcomed me into a world I have never left. This novel has a special place deep within my heart, it has made me laugh, cry, and jump in excitement. Maybe I'm saying all of this because it was my first ever and there is a nostalgic feeling in me whenever I think of this novel, but man... This was a damn good read. Highly recommend.
