The novels protagonist isn't likable from the start which isn't a good sighn even if the story is good later on a unlikable mc that leaves a bad taste in your mouth is quite a red flag for me sorry qidian has picked quite uninteresting novels atleast for me if you guys like it great for you just not my cup of tea

This novel has a rating of 9.2 with 1000's of votes that is a damn high rating. This kind of rating is given to novels like "Lord of Mysteries". But it's from 2013 so you can't trust it. Most of the novel of that time has quite high ratings while not being that good.

Okay...let me be blunt. 1. The first three chapters are important. 2. The first three chapters are very important. and 3. The first three chapters, while important, aren't that significant to the beginning of the story...sorta... This is a story about a guy who decides to turn professional gamer. Unfortunately, (refer to chaps 1-3) he did some very childish things when he was a kid fresh out of school. Now that he's older, he's trying to ignore that part of his life with the latest, hottest VRMMO. Then karma comes and bites him in the...y'know... ^_^ You might not like the MC. His personality is abrasive and brash and hasn't really mellowed that much from that prologue, but he's a very realistic character and very entertaining. You might feel snarly about how he treats his sister's BF, but if she was my sister, I'd act the same way. Basically, this is an entertaining VRMMO story about a sorta reformed troll trying to trod the straight and narrow (and failing rather humorously). Totally hope it gets a full pickup because I did laugh quite a bit while reading of his misadventures (Katrina...lol...).

First three chapters named prelude show MC being a spiteful youth, seem to have upset other readers. However main story starts after this and he’s now calmer but still devious. Background settings of the story appears to be some derivative of the Heroes of Might and Magic universe.

Very good VRMMO novel. (+)After read 60 chapters I view a "Overgeared" vibe with a trash mc. This mc is very arrogant not like Grid but he think about all the elements in this game. This Vrmmo game is interesting with complexe attribut, ambiance and good Npc/quest/aventure system. For now the chinese nationalism is not present but I think he will appear later. (-)They are too long explains for skills. The mc is mainly a man who WANT MONEY and it's really frustrating when he tries to sell all rare items that he finds. So this is a VRMMO novel with a trash /arrogant /strategist mc who looking for money at all costs.

Speed read through the first 15 chapters. This is a story with a terribly shameless protagonist who looks after #1, himself. An amusing read while waiting for releases of other stories.

THE MC is fricking annoying.......the plot is not bad and is fast paced enough. I couldn't stomach it, but if you can ignore the MC then you are good....

I love that de fei is a reformed player killer that show a greater thought about the character. He seem a more well rounded character in some interestingly tough situations.

The book is great and I would really read it.
