Prologue



Eleven-year old Joel was in the car with his parents. They shared jokes and laughter like the happy family that they were.



Suddenly, the first car in the line of five stopped abruptly. It was clear that something was amiss. Before they knew what was happening, the first car exploded into a million pieces, courtesy of a grenade.



The other cars tried to reverse but the last car also exploded. In under a minute, they were surrounded by men who were dressed completely in black clothes and red masks. The security men hurriedly called for backup.



Joel was panicking. His mother hugged him tightly, also terrified.



"Joel, stay here with your mother," Thomas said, pulling out a gun. In just few minutes, all the bodyguards lay dead on the floor.



A black limo halted in front of them. The men welcomed the woman as she alighted gracefully, dressed in a long black fishtail dress. She had an expressionless face on.



Joel looked at the woman as she ordered the men to drag his parents out of he car. He hugged his mum tighter. The men pulled his mum by her hair and he fought to get his mum back but shook in fear as a gunshot was heard.



His father lay dead in a pool of his own blood. His mum screamed and he stood frozen. He looked up to see the woman with a gun.



She killed his father!



"Hi Margret. Long time no see," the woman said with a smirk.



"How dare you Quinn?!" Margret yelled as she tried freeing herself from the men."



"My regards to your husband," Quinn said before shooting.



Joel ran and hugged his mother's lifeless body in tears. Quinn walked up to him.



"Hello Joel. I'm Quinn. Try not to hate me too much. You just be a good boy and take care of my daughter in the future. That is my wish for sparing you tonight," Quinn said before ruffling his hair and walking away.



Joel glared at her. His body trembled with anger as he watched her walk away with a smile on her face...
